Jailer 2 Crosses ₹300 Crore Net in 7 Days — Rajinikanth’s Sequel Becomes Fastest Kollywood Film in the Club, ₹569.5 Crore Worldwide
Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has stormed into the ₹300 crore net club in India in just seven days of release — the fastest any Kollywood film has ever reached the milestone. Trade estimates put its Day 7 (Wednesday, 21 October) India net collection at roughly ₹26.8–28.2 crore, taking the domestic total to about ₹309–317 crore net, with a worldwide gross of approximately ₹569.5 crore, according to boxofficeindia24’s confirmed figures.
Fastest Ever in Kollywood
With the 7-day entry, Jailer 2 beats the previous record-holders: 2.0 took 8 days, Leo took 11 days, and the first Jailer needed 16 days to reach the same mark. The film also registered Kollywood’s biggest-ever Wednesday, ahead of the earlier record held by Ponniyin Selvan 1.
The Film and Its Cast
Released on 15 October 2026 and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the action thriller brings Rajinikanth back as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. The cast includes S. J. Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Mithun Chakraborty, Ramya Krishnan and Vidya Balan, and the film has drawn strong audiences in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi markets. It opened with an estimated ₹55.8 crore on Day 1 and peaked with ₹56.8 crore on Sunday, Day 4.
What’s Next
The film is now closing in on the lifetime domestic collection of its predecessor, Jailer (2023), and the coming weekend will decide how quickly it approaches its next box-office milestone.
