Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part 1 has recorded Rs 96.64 crore in gross advance booking across India ahead of its theatrical release on November 5, 2026, according to trade figures reported on November 4. The mythological epic, starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita and Yash as Ravana, has sold approximately 25.68 lakh tickets across more than 83,000 shows in 898 cities. Without blocked seats, the advance gross stands at Rs 77.38 crore, a figure trade watchers are calling historic for a pre-Diwali opening.

Language-wise advance figures

The Hindi version is leading the advance sales by a considerable margin. As of the November 4 morning update, the language-wise gross figures including blocked seats were: Hindi Rs 78.88 crore, Telugu Rs 8.09 crore, Kannada Rs 7.27 crore and Tamil Rs 1.84 crore. The film is also attracting strong interest overseas, particularly in North America, where paid-preview bookings have crossed USD 1.2 million and opening-weekend advance sales in the territory are around USD 3 million. More recent trade reports have put the worldwide opening-weekend advance gross above Rs 100 crore.

A Rs 4,000 crore two-part epic

Ramayana is being developed as a two-part adaptation of the Indian epic, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra. The combined budget of the two instalments has been estimated in media reports at around Rs 4,000 crore, or approximately USD 420 million to USD 500 million, making it one of the most expensive film projects ever attempted in India. Ranbir Kapoor is reported to have been paid Rs 150 crore for both instalments, while Yash, who plays Ravana and is also associated with the project as a co-producer, has reportedly been offered Rs 100 crore across the two films. These figures are based on media reports and have not been officially confirmed by the makers. Adding to the film’s international appeal is its music, which brings together A. R. Rahman and renowned Hollywood composer Hans Zimmer.

Premiere buzz before release day

Ahead of the November 5 release, the makers hosted a special screening for the film’s cast, crew and select members of the film industry in Mumbai on November 3, attended by Alia Bhatt and Neetu Kapoor among others. The premiere added to the already intense buzz around the film, which has dominated entertainment headlines for weeks. Industry watchers are now waiting to see whether the record advance booking converts into a landmark opening weekend, with PVR INOX reportedly eyeing its biggest advance booking record for the film.
