Shraddha Kapoor’s Eetha trailer arrives on Friday, October 30, 2026, with the makers confirming the launch in Mumbai ahead of the film’s theatrical release on December 4, 2026. The trailer is expected during the day on October 30, and it marks Kapoor’s big-screen comeback after Stree 2, in her most performance-driven role in years.

What Eetha Is About

Eetha is a Hindi biographical drama directed by Laxman Utekar and written by Kshitij Patwardhan. Kapoor plays Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar, the celebrated Tamasha and Lavani performer known as Eetha Bai, whose life and art form the heart of the film. The story follows her artistic journey, her rise to recognition in Maharashtra’s folk theatre tradition, and the personal struggles behind her public success.

The film is presented by Maddock Films and Kathputli Creations, with Utekar producing alongside Dinesh Vijan and Karishma Sharma. The music has been composed by Ajay-Atul. Eetha was initially scheduled for an August 2026 release but was later postponed to December 4, giving the campaign a longer runway.

The Cast Around Shraddha Kapoor

Randeep Hooda plays Merchant, Eetha Bai’s husband, and his first-look poster as the character was shared just ahead of the trailer launch. The ensemble also includes Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Anant Joshi, Siddharth Jadhav, Akshara Singh and Ulka Gupta. Early first reactions to the trailer, reported ahead of its public release, have described it as a mass-appeal, crowd-pleasing cut built around Kapoor’s transformation into the folk artist.

Why the Trailer Matters

The teaser, unveiled in June, had already drawn attention for Kapoor’s look as the Tamasha performer. The full trailer, cleared by the censor board with a UA 16+ certificate and running 2 minutes 58 seconds, is expected to offer the first real glimpse of the film’s scale, its music and its portrayal of Maharashtra’s cultural traditions. For Kapoor, Eetha is a deliberate shift from franchise comedy to a rooted, author-backed role, and the trailer’s reception will set the tone for the December release.

Kapoor’s last major theatrical release, Stree 2 (2024), was one of the biggest Hindi hits of its year, which is why Eetha is being watched as a test of her pull outside franchise comedy. Director Laxman Utekar previously made Mimi (2021), another female-led drama, and his handling of that film’s emotional story is part of why the Eetha casting has drawn attention.
