Asim Azhar Turns 30, Releases New Song ‘Ajnabi’
Pakistani singer Asim Azhar has turned 30 and marked the milestone by releasing a brand-new song, ‘Ajnabi’, as a birthday gift for his fans. The singer shared photographs and videos from his birthday celebrations on Instagram, calling it his best birthday yet and thanking fans, friends and family for their love and prayers.
A birthday gift for fans
According to The Express Tribune’s October 30 report, Azhar announced the release of ‘Ajnabi’ through an Instagram video filmed on the streets of London, describing the track as a birthday present for his listeners. Sharing the music video, he wrote: “A birthday gift from me to you. To whoever who found or finds love again. Ajnabi hum nahi, mil chuke, hum kahi. Out nowwwww.”
ARY News reported on October 30 that the singer celebrated his birthday with family and loved ones, sharing a carousel of photographs and videos that included moments with his parents. In his birthday post, Azhar wrote that he could not decide whether to be happy or surprised at turning 30, but added that the fun should not stop, thanking everyone from the bottom of his heart for their love and prayers.
The official video of ‘Ajnabi’ is out on YouTube, where its description says the song captures the pain of pretending to be okay while the heart still belongs to someone else, with soul-stirring Urdu verses and an unforgettable Punjabi hook. The track is written, composed and performed by Asim Azhar, and produced and composed by Azhar along with Haider Ali and Qasim Azhar, with Azhar himself directing the video.
The ‘unc phase’ joke and fan wishes
Azhar later reshared his birthday pictures on Instagram Stories, joking about entering a new chapter of life. “Unc phase officially commences,” he wrote, thanking everyone for their love and wishes. The light-hearted line quickly caught on with fans, who flooded his comments with birthday wishes.
Singer Aima Baig joined the celebrations in the comments section, writing “Happiest birthday Star”, while actor Asad Siddiqui also extended his wishes, commenting “Happy Birthday bro!” The birthday post attracted an outpouring of wishes from fans and fellow showbiz personalities alike.
Fans spot a familiar face in the birthday dump
The birthday celebrations also set social media buzzing for another reason. ARY News reported that eagle-eyed fans claimed to have spotted actress Hania Aamir in Azhar’s birthday photo dump, with several social media users pointing to the ninth slide and suggesting that a clip showed the two riding a kick scooter together. Fans linked the clip to a similar scooter-riding video Hania had shared shortly before, featuring Azhar’s latest track and what appeared to be the same location.
The Siasat reported that a collage shared by an entertainment page placed Azhar’s Instagram post alongside Hania’s story, with both showing what appears to be the same outdoor setting, while Hania’s story featured his song ‘Ajnabi’. The reports stress that the latest posts offer another hint of time spent together but do not confirm a romantic reunion. Hania and Asim were romantically linked between 2018 and 2020 before reportedly going their separate ways, and neither has publicly confirmed a renewed relationship.
Why this birthday matters for fans
Azhar, who was born in Karachi, has built one of the most loyal fan followings in Pakistani pop music, and his birthday releases have become a tradition with his audience. The ‘Ajnabi’ release continues that tradition, giving fans new music on the same day he celebrates with his family.
The timing also adds to the excitement around his upcoming live shows. Azhar is set to bring his Asim Ali Tour 2026 to Pakistan in November, with shows scheduled in Faisalabad, Lahore and Islamabad, followed by a Karachi show on December 25. For fans, the new song is both a birthday treat and a warm-up for the tour ahead.
